Burnley
is a picturesque Lancashire town which was once said to be the weaving
capital of the world with a pub on every corner. Just a few cotton mills
remain today but the bar of the Canal Tavern survives intact in the
Museum. Whilst there may no longer be a pub on every corner there is still
plenty to choose from.
When
staying in Burnley you will notice that it is rather unspoilt from
modern architecture in favour of the listed Victorian buildings of old. It is quite a
delight to visit a town were history still remains. As such, Burnley has
much to offer all visitors.
As an
example of Victorian splendour try The Sparrow Hawk
Hotel. It is si ated
at the very heart of Burnley, adjacent to the retail centre. The hotel
retains its traditional Victorian charm whilst offering all the comfort
the modern traveller expects.
