Runcorn
is a busy town at the mouth of the Mersey River estuary and a mere 5 miles
from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Whilst Runcorn has a thriving
industrial side it is within easy reach of many local attractions.
If you
want to spend some money, a visit to Halton Lea Shopping Centre can reduce
your wallet with a varied selection of shops to choose from. For some who
are more energetic Runcorn Ski Centre can give you a few well earned
bruises!
Whilst
Runcorn is of new construction and a great deal of it's own history there
is plenty to choose from within easy reach. The following are all within 8
miles of Runcorn town centre.
Walton
Hall and Garden
is a short drive in Warrington and was originally purchased by the famous
Greenall brewing family. The Estate houses many acres of beautiful
gardens, a children's zoo, and a fantastic stately home.
Speke
Hall and Gardens
is just 6 miles away and very worthy of a visit. It is described as one of
the finest half-timbered mansions of England.
Warrington
Museum is
also 6 miles away and houses many exhibitions and national treasures and artefacts.
